God Bless The Bluebird Cafe

It’s where Country Dreams come true
Where everything sung there is brand new
Where people go to sit and really listen
Where songwriters come to be christened
You’ll hear songs there about Mama
about ol’ fashioned love & wastin’ away
At the end of the night, you’ll wanna say
God bless the Bluebird Cafe

I’ve heard the various legends about the place
I’ve seen pictures taken within those walls
I’ve bought the songs that were introduced there
It’s not one of them fancy Country Music halls

It’s unlike anywhere you’ve ever been before
Those songwriters are the best of the best
What they come up with and sincerely sing about
is more impressive than how they’re dressed

It’s where I hope my songs are sung one day
It’s the place I wanna hear incredible tunes
I’d rather go there than all them honky-tonks
or those famous Nashville bars and saloons

I’d like to go to a Sunday Writer’s Night
where I could sing my latest crafted song
Where I hope one day someone will say
“Son, this is where you no doubt belong.”

It’s where Country Dreams come true
Where everything sung there is brand new
Where people go to sit and really listen
Where songwriters come to be christened
You’ll hear songs about yearning for home
Each artist and writer there will blow you away
As you walk out the doors at the end of the night
You’ll say God bless the Bluebird Cafe

Oh, God bless the Bluebird Cafe!
