When She Walks Away

When she walks away
Don’t you shed a tear
Don’t you stay up all night
Don’t you fret and fear
Don’t you chase after her
Don’t you beg her to stay
Just give her patience and grace
When she walks away

She’s only thinkin’ ’bout the others
Who did her wrong all her life
And she’s gettin’ frustrated
As she’s tryin’ to be a good wife
Try to see it through her eyes
That’s just the way she works
She’s a stubborn country girl, and
knows you’re not one of them jerks

When she walks away
Don’t you feel so bad
Just trust me, my son
As I’ll always be her Dad
She’s just like her Mom
Back in those early days
She needs time and space
When she walks away

She’s only thinkin’ bout the others
Who did her wrong all her life
And she’s gettin’ frustrated
As she’s tryin’ to be a good wife
Try to see it through her eyes
That’s just the way she works
She’s a stubborn country girl,
Knows you’re not like those jerks

It’s one of her inborn traits
Especially when she’s wrong
So hang in there, kiddo
This ain’t no country song
Where the girl leaves the boy
To go drink, dance and play
She’s fighting for your love
When she walks away

Don’t get twisted up in her game
When she walks away

When she walks away
