I was standing in line at a punk pop show

When up came a girl in a Buzzcocks shirt
Who I recognized from the ride in my car
I Ubered her there and it was a fun talk
She said I should come watch her band
The music was loud & she said in my ear
“I wanna do more than hold your hand”
She said

I said “ok, but I’ve gotta go home and pack
Do you want me to do that after the show?”
She said “Oh, that won’t be soon enough!”
In about a half an hour she was gonna go
I said “That’s fine, I’ll meet you outside
I don’t live too far away from this place”
Then she smiled and gave me a soft peck
But before I started my frantic race
I said

I got there and back just as fast as I could
But I couldn’t find that girl anywhere
But she gave me 5 stars and a big fat tip
And I thought to myself “That’s fair”
Then a band mate handed me a note from her
It said “Meet me at the airport, I will wait.”
But then I looked at the girl behind the bar
And I was blessed by a golden hand of fate
She said

I found out the next morning the singer died
On the chartered plane I nearly decided to take
Instead I ended up in bed with the bartender
In a cozy log cabin out at Bloomington Lake
Now we enjoy our life and what we’ve built
Yet I think about that night all the time
When I fell for two girls in the same place
Who fed me the same crazy pick up line
