There’s a house on Virginia Street
Back in my hometown, Watsonville
Just a ranch with a two car garage
An average place, just run of the mill
It had a swimming pool with jacuzzi
That was rebuilt at least twice
I can still see how it used to be
When I close my sleepy blue eyes
In the house right across from us
Were farmers with kids we got to know
I went to school with Deanne and Craig
Steve was a year behind my oldest bro
I don’t think anything can beat
The great life we had back then
In our hometown on Virginia Street
In our hometown on Virginia Street
Where I learned about friendship
Where we played kick the can,
Basketball and hide and go seek
I remember that stormy week
The water was muddy and high
Seemed like we lived on a creek
I don’t think anything can beat
The great life we had back then
In our hometown on Virginia Street
In our hometown on Virginia Street
Go karts flying down those dirt roads
We had it good and as far as we knew
We’d always be the closest of friends
I mean, what else were were gonna do
But sure enough my parents sold 812
And they moved to into a place on Holm
But I yearned for the day I could buy
What I’ll always call home sweet home
I don’t think anything will beat
The great life we had back then
In our hometown on Virginia Street
In our hometown on Virginia Street
On Virginia Street.
