Verse 1:
I see the darkness on the horizon
I feel the weight of the world upon my shoulders
I try to fight it, but I can’t deny it
When the ending comes, I’ll stop getting older
Chorus:
When the ending comes, I’ll be ready
I’ve lived my life, and I’ve had my moments
I won’t look back, I’ll just let it go
When the ending comes, I’ll be content
Verse 2:
I’ve made my mistakes, and caused pain
But I’ve also loved, and I’ve felt alive
I won’t regret, the choices I have made
When the ending comes, I’ll close my eyes
Chorus:
When the ending comes, I’ll be ready
I’ve lived my life, and I’ve had fun
I won’t look back, I’ll just let it go
When the ending comes, I will be done
Bridge:
I know what’s coming, I’ll be free of my debts
I’ll embrace it and say goodbye to the strife
I’ll leave this world, with no regrets
I’ll be grateful I lived an incredible life
Final Chorus:
When the ending comes, I’ll be ready
I’ve lived and learned and did my best
I won’t look back I’ll just let it go
When the ending comes
Oh when the ending comes
In peace, I will rest
Wow! That was great. Obviously I couldn’t read it as a song because I didn’t have the music, but just as a poem I loved it.
I read your comment to Elena (Short Wisdom) about wanting Co-writers. I’m kinda new at writing and I’ve always wished for someone or many someones to bounce ideas off of and brainstorm with, etc.
I don’t think you need any help, you’re very good, but if you’d like, I’d be happy to work with you.
Thanks! That would be fun to do. My email is matt@azweso.com – Let me know, I love collaborative projects or just regular conversation too!
